Transferring Fostering Agencies
Transferring to Families First is easier than you might think. We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming, family-oriented environment, combined with unparalleled support for our foster carers. The process of transferring is straightforward and hassle-free. While the assessment will be similar to what you experienced the first time, we’ll fast-track it to ensure a quicker and smoother transition. Our dedicated team will guide you every step of the way, making sure that your experience is as seamless as possible. At Families First, you’ll not only benefit from a more efficient process, but also from the warmth and support that sets us apart.
The Transferring Process
- Give us a call or send an enquiry to find out more about Families First and help you to decide if we are the right agency for you.
- Once you have decided to transfer to Families you will need to let your current agency or local authority know that you plan to move on.
- You will meet your social worker who will complete your assessment and find out more about your family and fostering experience.
- An independent panel will make a recommendation to our agency decision maker about your approval with Families First. If this outcome is positive, then you will join us as a valued member of our family.
We support you throughout the process to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible. As an approved foster parent with Families first you will have access to our outstanding wrap around support services from our professional team of experienced Managers, Social workers, Therapist and family support workers. This is in addition to a fantastic financial package and 24/7 advice and guidance.
You Can Transfer if You Already Have a Child in Placement
If you already have a child in placement we will work with you, your current agency and the child's local authority to ensure that child's needs and care plan continue to be met during and after the transfer.
Once you have decided that Families First is the best agency for you, you will need to let the child's local authority know of your intention to transfer. A meeting will be held with all involved parties to discuss the smooth transfer of services for the child.
Transferring from a local authority
Fostering with an Independent Fostering Agency like Families First will provide you with far more support than fostering for a local authority. We prioritise the needs of our carers, ensuring you receive personalised guidance and assistance every step of the way. Your application will be fast-tracked, and the process will be smooth and efficient, allowing you to begin your fostering journey with ease. At Families First, we’re committed to providing the high level of care and support you deserve, helping you make the most of your fostering experience.
