Families first is owned and run by Rachael & Amanda who each have over 20 years' experience as qualified social workers in fostering and adoption services. Both have personal experience of fostering and high aspirations to achieve the best possible outcomes for children. They lead a team of highly experienced and passionate Social workers, Therapist, Family support workers and Education staff ensure excellent specialist support to children and families.

• 24 hour social work support 365 days a year – support is just a phone call away. 
• An experienced team, which is on call to help and answer any questions. 
• Regular local support groups where you can meet other foster parents. 
• Frequent supervision visits from a qualified and compassionate social worker.

Access to a renowned training and development programme 

Although it is not compulsory to have any specific skills to become a foster parent, Families First Fostering will provide you with all the training you will require. This is what sets their agency apart, because they go the extra mile in supporting all their parenting partners.​

Full access to the Therapeutic Model 

Families First’s services are based around a therapeutic model of support for children and foster parents. The model includes: 

• Therapeutic Fostering Assessment completed on all applicants.
• Level 2 qualification in Therapeutic Parenting provided.
• Regular therapist-led support groups for foster parents and staff. 
• Therapeutic training for foster parents and staff. 
• A therapeutic parenting approach is promoted, including PACE as a model. 
• Therapeutic Life Story Work provided to all children & young people.
• Art Therapy Groups offered to all children & young people.
• Therapeutic Youth worker providing direct work, support and groups.
• Regular supervision by a compassionate and qualified supervising social worker. 
• Regular support groups in a welcoming and relaxing environment. 
• Access to a range of regular organised outings and activities for the whole family.
